What you should do if you get e-liquid in your mouth

Note: If you or someone you know has ingested (swallowed) any amount of e-juice, even a few drops, call the poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Regardless of where you are in the US, there is a poison control center. Call this number to speak with medical experts for free, confidential poison help 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Getting your e-liquid in your mouth can be extremely stressful. After all, e-liquid contains nicotine (see dynamiccreations.com/wholesale), and nicotine can be poisonous in large enough doses. Other ingredients in e-liquids can be harmful as well if ingested.

If you swallowed only a few drops, you should be fine and not experience any side effects. However you should still call the poison control number just to be sure. If you swallow enough, you may experience the following side effects, depending on the ingredients and nicotine strength of the juice you swallowed:

  1. Dizziness
  2. Nausea
  3. Headache
  4. Stomach Pain
  5. Throwing up

E-juices with more nicotine concentrations would have a higher chance of being more harmful, and causing more severe side effects, than liquids without nicotine, depending on your tolerance levels.

If you swallowed a whole bottle of e-juice, it may be fatal.

If you get a few drops of e-liquid in your mouth, take a napkin and remove the e-liquid. Then gurgle multiple times. If you have Listerine or other antiseptic mouthwash, gargle your mouth with that.

If you get a whole sip of e-liquid in your mouth, spit it out, and follow the same steps, taking a napkin and removing the juice, and gurgling and rinsing your mouth several times.

If you ingest (swallow) any amount of e-juice, call the poison control center. E-liquids are not meant for consumption and are poisonous.
